for my portraits, i wanted the photos to have a natural feel to them. so i didn't arrange appointment or times for my subjects photos to be taken i simply asked them and took the photograph on the spot if they agreed. i took a number of portraits and then looked through them after selecting the pictures i felt were most honest and natural. since my project was based on photographs on my road. i wanted to photograph the people on the road in their own surroundings rather than taking them to a different or studio environment. i feel this also gave the photographs a more natural feel since the people were in environments they are familiar with. i photographed the people wherever i had found them and asked to take their portrait.
My Gran lives a few houses down from me so she was my choice for a family member
Barbra lives up my road and ive occasionally exchanged a few words with her
i walk past the house which this woman lives everyday on the way to 6th form and chose this as my opportunity to meet its residents. on approaching i almost got hosed but thankfully dodged it and came away with a portrat of the lady who lives on the corner.
