The Big Smoke

On a day trip to London with my photography class i was given the opportunity to visit The National Portrait Gallery, the Tate Modern and The National Gallery. aswell as looking at the photography and art in these gallerys the trip was also a chance to get some photographs while in the city.

London is such a captivating environment its hard not to fall into the tourist frame of mind and focus on the city's stereotypical attractions. when taking pictures in London, I tried to bare this in mind and look beyond the cliché of being in a capital city.

while observing the painting on the walls in the images above i noticed a painting of the national gallery from the same angle as i had photographed it only minutes ago...

i wanted to experiment with my photo and the photo i then took of the painting.

i used photoshop to create this rough experiment. and although the lines of the painting do not fit over the photo of the building i think it creates an interesting effect, one very similar to some previous experiments
